OER databases are online platforms or repositories that provide free, openly licensed learning materials used for teaching, learning, and research. These resources can be textbooks, videos, quizzes, lesson plans, full courses, and many more, and they are freely accessible and reusable under Creative Commons or similar licenses.
This serves as a supplementary resource for an existing program or curriculum. For example, instructors may use an online open lesson plan to incorporate enrichment activities for learners. They can also provide extra practice materials for students who are struggling with the course. Additional support can be offered for a specific concept.
